Welcome to Year 5

Children's Work

Chris Connaughton

Chris Connaughton visited our class to help us create stories and poems about the Greek Gods. Some of our work will be presented in our upcoming class assembly.

Digestion

To learn about the digestive system, the children in Y5 got to recreate a working model. Starting with food, they staged each process of the digestive system ending with…well. You can see the pictures!

Making Teeth

Y5 children created a model of the human mouth to learn about the different type of teeth and their functions.

Respecting Rights

Children in Y5 created plasticine models of themselves to present the articles of the Rights Respecting School campaign. The models are displayed in the front entrance now! Go and take a look.

Roald Dahl Day

On 13th September 2016 we celebrated Roald Dahl day on what would have been his 100th birthday! We all dressed up as our favourite characters and visited our local library to learn more about the books he wrote.

Salvation Army

In September the Y5 children visited the Salvation Army for their Open Week. They put on a concert of hymns for all the visitors to the church who all agreed that they had thoroughly enjoyed it and that the children were absolutely brilliant. An excellent way to represent our school Year 5, well done!
